Monday - Dan Wilkinson - Figurative Expressions
To try different styles choose an artist and draw in their style,
focus on composition, take the sketches and create something more ‘finished’.
I chose Gustav Glint (remember The Kiss) Mother and child in pastels
loved doing it.
A different model every week, drawing under pressure, the class is
very popular and can get crowded and hot (the model has to have a comfortable
temperature). Be early to get a good position in the room.
Wednesday – Roger Key - Drawing with Paint
A theme for ten weeks? – take a sketch from life study Mondays and
paint in flesh tones, to practise colour mixing (White, Red and raw Sienna) and
not stress about colour matching.
Focus on composition.
Friday –Roger Key – Drawing with Wet and Dry Media
Using black and white photos, waterproof ink, size 16 flat brush –
large sheets of brown paper – focus on
tonal differences , don’t be frightened to go dark.
